G4AW third call winners announced

The Netherlands Space Office (NSO) selected six project proposals to receive a grant from the Geodata for Agricultural and Water (G4AW) Facility. The Facility aims to improve food security and economic development in 26 partner countries by using satellite data and geo-information.

In total, around 70 concept notes resulted in 27 full project proposals being submitted for the third G4AW call. Of the 6 winning proposals, two will be implemented in Africa (Burundi and Ghana) and four in Asia (Myanmar, Indonesia and Cambodia). Advance Consulting supported the project partners in the development of one of the winning projects: ‘Myanmar Mobile Value Added Services for Agriculture’. The project targets food producers growing rice, green and black gram, maize, groundnut, potato and sesame with, amongst others, daily localised weather data, agronomic crop tips and alerts and market & product related information.
