Project Budget: € 1 million
External financing: PSI
Project period: From 01/01/2012 to 31/12/2014

Bosnia-Herzegovina has a strong metal processing sector with a well-developed human resource base and a considerable potential. These factors, together with its relative vicinity to the Netherlands, make it a favourable manufacturing location for Dutch businesses seeking expansion.

The Dutch company MDG Techniek Holland has partnered with another Dutch company, Shipteq BV, and the Bosnian-Herzegovinian company Missal Inzenjering, to jointly establish a high-precision CNC metal processing unit in the Sarajevo area. The project will focus on engineering, production and marketing of high-precision metal (spare) parts and subcomponents for road, rail and sea transport. The unique feature of this project is the combination of the low cost level and the high precision level of the end product. By transferring the knowledge and the technology to the joint venture the new company will meet the quality standards and finishing requirements of the highly demanding clients in the car, railway and shipping industry.

Advance Consulting has assisted the project partners to obtain the grant funding from the Dutch PSI programme to realize their investment. The total project cost is budgeted at close to euro 1 million, of which 50% will be covered by the grant.
