Siebren works with Advance Consulting since February 2015; he specializes in acquiring financing for a wide range of private sector investment projects and assisting entrepreneurs in establishing new ventures in emerging markets in Africa and Asia. Before joining Advance Consulting he worked for three years for the World Food Programme in Mozambique, where he was responsible for designing and implementing innovative financial services for low-income households, as well as facilitating market access for smallholder farmers. Previous to WFP, Siebren worked and lived in Mongolia for three years and was involved in an Urban Development Project, responsible for the implementation of a microfinance component for investments in water and sanitation.
Siebren has a background in SME banking in the Netherlands and holds an MSc in Business Economics from the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. Through his experience in the private and development sector, he is able to easily establish links between the two sectors and is able to facilitate access to potential markets for entrepreneurs interested to invest.
