Advance Consulting successfully develops proposal for a Burundian IFAD-led soil fertility programme
Advance Consulting successfully develops a proposal for an IFAD-led soil fertility programme in Burundi (‘PAGRIS’)
PAGRIS is a Euro 8.9 million, four-year programme funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Burundi and implemented by the International Fertilizer Development Center (IFDC) in cooperation with Wageningen Environmental Research (WEnR – formerly Alterra). The programme builds on previous initiatives and seeks to achieve ecologically sustainable land management on 14,000 hectares of land while supporting 100,000 small farmers to improve their income. Activities will be deployed at three levels: plot level (targeting small farmers), slope level (targeting rural communities) and institutional level (targeting public and private sector stakeholders).
Advance Consulting has facilitated the collaborative proposal development process, organised partner consultations and undertook a field visit to Burundi. Based on the generated inputs, our experts have developed the full programme proposal including the Theory of Change, the activity plan and the monitoring and evaluation framework. Programme implementation started in March 2020.
